JMAC MAKES £650,000 INVESTMENT IN FLEET

JMAC SCALES UP TO MEET AMBITIOUS GROWTH PLANS

A North East-based construction company now has the capacity to deliver over  200 tonnes of scaffolding and fall safety materials to sites throughout the UK PER DAY, J Mac has pledged its ongoing commitment to the safe delivery and lifting of all materials to site. The firm has invested over £650, 000 in its industry-leading fleet since 2019 to increase operational efficiency and customer service.

The vehicle investment, which brings the overall JMAC Group fleet to almost 60 vehicles, these ranging from Small vans and drop sides to articulated vehicles which can transport up to 44 tonne grosse train weight– this represents a significant upgrade to its existing fleet of vehicles, one of the largest of its kind in the UK.

The articulated vehicles will be used throughout the UK from JMAC’s Stockton-based Headquarters. The RNZ truck incorporates a state of the art Hiab crane which enables easier positioning of products and equipment in heavily built-up areas, while improved lifting capacity makes stacking safety products easier and safer. An additional Mercedes Flatbed with drop side, has also been added to the fleet which carries a rough terrain moffett, this is demountable and allows up to a 2.5 tonne load to be  Loaded or unloaded for sites / projects without forklift capacity.

The new trucks are being used to ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of JMAC’s innovative range of fall safety products and  scaffolding Operations to National home builders, industrial sites and major construction contractors, with additional features including sensors, cameras and enhanced warning systems for improved visibility of vulnerable road users, all of our New Trucks are also compliant with to Transport for London’s Direct Vision Standard for entry into our capital city.

As part of the company’s commitment to the highest possible safety standards, the articulated trucks are fitted with sensors to alert drivers to bicycles and pedestrians, an audible and visual warning and in-cab monitors that provide the driver with a 360° view. The scaffolding division vehicles have also been made specifically with specialist hook loaders capable of to ensure easier and safer lifting, due to the reduced lifting angle capability of the Hook lift equipment fitted to these vehicles.

The company is also working towards achieving Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme compliance in 2022.

“We believe that investing in the best transport and drivers is integral to delivering a first-class service to our customers in across a variety of sectors such as major construction,  and industrial sites and our continual investment in our transport model, is helping us to build on our strong reputation for service and safety excellence.

“Making regular improvements to our fleet is important to keep pace with customer and legislative demand and we are already looking ahead, especially when it comes to legislation surrounding inner city deliveries that require higher safety and emissions specifications.

“By investing in vehicles with cranes and mounted lift capacity, we are able to take more control over our operations and look after the full process rather than our customer having to deal with external suppliers, meaning the customer is always guaranteed JMAC service standards.” Jonathan Dalgleish, Transport, Yard and Logistics Manager

Continuing its commitment to investment, the firm has also invested in a thorough Driver Development Programme offering training for internal drivers including Class 1 training, Vehicle Mounted Lift truck training ALLMI Hiab and driver CPC training.

Recent success has seen JMAC transport teams travelling around the country to deliver to sites from  Cornwall to Perth and as far as Ireland,  with the ability to provide a fast turnaround on the delivery of our products and services. With scaffolding contracts and safety systems hire and sales already well underway in January, it’s set to be a busy year for Jonathan and the JMAC transport team.

Group Managing Director, Luis McCarthy said: “JMAC are well known for innovation and safety within our scaffolding and safety systems divisions, so having an exceptional transport team and fleet is key to our operation, and as important as the contracting or sales teams within the organisation. We will continue to invest in safety excellence in our fleet and training to support the safety of the people who work within our business. In addition to this, we have received some positive feedback from our customers about the improvements – which is something we are immensely proud of.”
